Qualification Aim

The Essential Skills Wales (ESW) qualifications provides learners in Wales with crucial skills and set them on the road to success. ESW qualifications benefit almost any type of work, as well as further learning and life in general.

Qualification Level

	Communication
	Application of Number
	Information Technology and Communication Technology (ICT)

Each avaiable at six levels: Entry 1, 2 and 3; Level 1, 2 and 3. Learners are able to progress through the levels, or they can use the skills they have deveoloped to access further vocational learning.

Assessment

Level 1-3: Learners submit a portfolio of evidence based on a purposeful activity that is relevant to them.

Entry 1-3: Learners participate in a 'one off' series of tasks completed in a classroom environment. Pre approved assignments are provided by City & Guilds.
