What is stress?

StressStress is the emotional and physical way in which we respond to pressure. Stress can cause mental and physical symptoms. The effects of stress are different for every individual. A common misconception is that all stress is bad, sometimes we need stress as it helps motivate us and life without pressure may become boring. Stress is not relatively new or modern, it has existed since early humanity.

Stress is caused when someone believes that demands which are put on them actually exceed their ability to cope with it. Signs of stress can be psychological, emotional, behavioural and physical. Stress is often associated with an increase in health problems, these can include; migraines, angina, asthma, ulcers, high blood pressure and heart attacks. This workshop is an opportunity to manage pressure effectively and to become aware of your stress triggers. By acknowledging your stress triggers you can begin to cope with even the most demanding situations.

Relaxing field
